Why Spotify has no speed control for music

Spotify does have playback speed, but only for podcasts and audiobooks. Music tracks get no speed control, so there's no official way to hear slowed and reverb on Spotify itself. Most people end up searching for a slowed re-upload of one specific song. Reverbify takes a different approach: you turn any song into a slowed version yourself, right where you already listen.

Slow down songs on Spotify in four steps

Does it work in the desktop and mobile apps?

No. Since the native Spotify apps can't run browser extensions, the remixing only happens in the web player. However, the workaround is better than it sounds: leave open.spotify.com playing in your browser, then use your phone like a remote to queue and skip tracks from your other devices while the slowed audio comes out of the computer running the extension.

Can I get slowed and reverb on Spotify mobile?

Not directly. Since phone apps cannot run browser extensions, the effect only works in the web player. Do slowed plays still count for the artist?
